Shannon Stillwell first attended Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ where she studied modern languages. She graduated from MCC in 1999 and began the speech language sciences program at Kean University in Union, NJ. She obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Kean in 2002 and 2004. She began working as a speech pathologist in the Warren County school district in NJ for two years. She moved to AZ in 2006 and worked one year in the Tolleson School District. At the same time, Shannon began per diem work at a small clinic and fell in love with the structure of the clinic setting. She has worked in the clinic setting since 2006. She loves the one-on-one time spent with each individual child and appreciates the constant family contact and communication the clinic provides.
After nine years of being a speech pathologist, Shannon's favorite population to work with is early intervention (children aged 1-3). She has the most experience with children with language, articulation and auditory processing delays. She has also worked with children with oral motor and feeding (sensory and behavioral based) difficulties. She also enjoys consulting with other people involved in a child's care (i.e. occupational, physical therapists, etc...) and giving recommendations and home programs to parents.
When not at work, Shannon enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with her husband, a physical therapy technician. They have two dogs and enjoy spending time with family and various outdoor activities.
